Hearing this, really made me think!!

I was on the phone with my sister the other day. She had been asking our family how she behaved as a child. Her daughter is very opinionated and stubborn. Our family said, nope it wasn't from her...LOL She was very laid back. My sister was happy to hear that she may be able to blame her daughters behavior on her husband!! LOL

So she asks her MIL how her husband behaved as child. Her MIL admits, she doesn't know and will have to ask some of her older kids. And that's what she does...

You see, my sister's MIL is an alcoholic. She has now been sober over 25 years, but can not remember how some of her children behaved, since she was drunk all of the time. The older children raised the younger ones. And yep, my niece gets it from her Daddy!! LOL He was rotten and stubborn!!

The point of the story is, there are parts of my childrens life that I can't remember. Those are things I will never get back. But today, I can be an active participate in their lives. I can remember what is going on. I can help them through things. I can be a Mother!!

So if you reading this and you are a parent that is still drinking, why are you still drinking? Apparently you have realized you might have a problem, or you wouldn't be here. How much more of your life, or that of your childs are you willing to waste or not remember?

People like my sisters MIL, have lived this kind of life before us. She now shares about it, so others don't have to make the same mistake. She shares, so I can have a better life for myself and my children. And that is why, I shared it with you!!
