Escape
Hi folks,
I think I will hang out here for a while. Drinking seems very remote these days, but I am still left with a lot of residual thinking I need to clean up. If I sum it up, I would say (my very long, although sporadic) career of drinking had everything to do with not wanting to face the mundane tasks that are part of life. They do pile up however, and I am trying to get to those first before I do the fun stuff. But wait, there is the creative part of my life-the way I make my living, and I am very good at avoidance behavior there too. All of which is to say, I need to act myself into a new way of thinking. Somewhere I saw a very good summation of priorities: to do the acts which really count, otherwise they can get buried in all the junk of life. I do not want to be on my death bed with nothing to show for having lived all these years. Does anyone have that piece of writing on prioritizing? Thanks in advance, Gianna |

Hey Gi,
Let me take a look, and I'll get back to you... Okay -- I didn't find anything on prioritizing pre se, but here is an exercise that might be helpful. It's the SMART Recovery Values and Goals Clarification Workksheet. It will allow you to set goals down on paper and plan how to accomplish them. It might assist in the setting the agenda and schedule for you. Here it is : http://www.smartrecovery.org/resourc...rification.pdf Glad to hear you're doing so well..... Peace, C
