Default Show me the way....

After reading Hopefloats thread about her daughter, I had to write.

I have struggled with the thought of writing this, as it confirms my beliefs seeing it in words, but here it goes.

My daughter continues to fade. She had a psychotic episode today, was picked up by the police and taken back to her apartment. She was suspended from her job for "swearing" a few days ago.

She is diagnosed bi-polar and this is her first psychotic episode...her thoughts totally disorganized when I saw her yesterday and today her neighbor called saying she was wondering around town speaking to people who weren't there.

She is abusing Vicodin. She sees an orthopedist for her back, which is very bad for a 31 year old, and he has given her an RX of Vicodin. Of course she neglected to tell him she is an addict.

Apparently, the Vicodin has made this psychosis surface.
My sober son feels awful and went over to her apartment to see if she was ok. She called her Dad and she was still out of it, saying there were people in her house and she didn't know them. I still haven't heard from my son, I am thinking he might possibly have "Baker Acted" her and had the police take her away to a crisis center.

I know her addiction caused this. She doesn't want to be this way as evidenced previously by attempted suicides.

We are overwrought with this new development in her mental status. I still maintain there is nothing more I can do for her...she is sick. I am heartbroken, and so is her Dad.

The only thing left to do is pray for strength for her and for ourselves, and accept what life is giving us. We cannot change her diagnosis nor cure her disease.

Her daughter is in our care again...and we are going to adopt her, care for her and see that she has a good life as long as we can. Now I know what I want to do...help my granddaughter have a stable as I can give her life to the best of my ability.

Keep us in your thoughts and prayers. It would be so very much appreciated...
