Default Sure Am Glad....

I sure am glad the worst of my Meltdown is passing.

Decided to take the dogs to the river this morning, lousy knee or no lousy knee. Only the black ones wanted to go, Pacho gave me the look of nope too cold mom, lol.

Took longer than normal but Shania and Mitch were really good, didn't bounce around while getting their harnesses on, didn't pull on the walk to the truck.

Got to the river, several friends were there with their dogs, including an off duty LC Police Officer I know.

Now here's where it really gets funny, and not funny ha ha, but funny strange, to me. There was a gal there with a cocker spaniel, none of us had ever seen her before. As soon as Shania and Mitch came out of the truck, still on lead mind you, she starts screaming and ran and grabbed her cocker spaniel. What was she screaming?

"Wolves, She's got wolves, OMG, somebody stop her." One of my friends that was standing near her tried to tell her they were sheepdogs, but she was not hearing her. Finally my police officer friend went over, showed his badge, calmed her down, and quietly explained to her that these were Belgian Sheepdogs not wolves.

I run into this periodically, but not to this extreme. All I could think of was to be grateful my meltdown was not that bad.

Fortunately, I have some printouts in my truck, yes it has happened before, but not to this extreme, showing pictures of the breed. One of my friends went to my truck, got one and handed it to her. She calmed down, but dang it blows me away. I never got that kind of response when I would take actual wolves and wolf hybrids that I have owned or fostered in the past to the river.

Some people are really strange. Thanks to the program of recovery I live, I didn't have to 'go off' on her or start ranting and screaming myself.

Anyway, my dogs had a great time, the lady and her cocker spaniel kept their distance. My belgies are tired now and totally stretched out on the floor. I was careful and knee doesn't seem to hurt any worse than before we left, will be good the rest of the day, rofl.

Oh well, just another vicissitude of life I guess, lmao.

Whats next? lol

Love and hugs,
