Honesty

In my good old fashioned Oxford dictionary it says

'honesty:upright;dealing fairly;just;faithful;free from fraud;unadulterated;truthfulness.......


A long time ago in early recovery someone once siad to me k 'tell me what you FEEL, dont tell me what you think....tell me how you feel, tell it how it is.....'

this was good advice, for if we continue to ignore our feelings we are ignoring our very essence, our truth....


my sponsor said to me..'k, speak your truth'...so i do...

my truth may not fit with someone elses 'truth' we are all unique individuals with our very own unique experiences and outlook in life....if we all thought the same we would be somewhat homogenized......


empathy plays a huge part in my life today....reaching out to those that hurt...howver if they dont want 'help' or understanding then what else is there?.....we all have our own paths to follow in this life...our own lessons to learn...we cant do recovery for others.....


I have to tell it like it is......and i appreciate others who tell it like it is....and if it does not fit with thier reality then i have to practice ACCEPTANCE.....all good stuff really and it takes a life time...we never stop learning...or at least I like to think so.......
