Happy Birthday, Hunny!

Dear Village friends,

I hope you will join me in wishing my significant other a happy birthday.

As most of you know, he is an active alcoholic. Unfortunately, he will be spending his day with drinking "friends".

He doesn't read here, though I plan to show him this thread tomorrow. I would like for him to get a taste of what it would be like to celebrate a sober anniversary someday with sober friends. I want him to know too, that there are people in the world who remember those who are still "sick and suffering", and that his birthday is a celebration of his life and value as a human being.

I want you to know that I love you very much. Though times are difficult in a drinking household, I regret that I don't take enough time to let you know how much I value you, and how valuable you are to those who love you.... even to those who don't even know you. You are a good person, with a good heart, and very special to me. I hope that this birthday wish gives you a spark of hope for a bright, sober future, and that today is a celebration of your life.
