Last but not least 1/2007

The story abruptly stops with the 8/2006 post.

I have not spoken to John since early December 2006. He is still struggling
to become sober and working a job well beneath his capabilties....
I think sometimes you can burn too many bridges.....
He lives with aging parents that are not well, he has a roof over his head.
I hope his story has a happy ending but for now this is what it is.

Today, I continue to work on my personal issues which go beyond loving an
alcoholic, he was mearly a symptom, not my disease.
I don't work the steps at this time, not even sure Alanon is where I should be
right now....although all of it's principals can be used in everyday living.
I worry that I may remain alone, as I have a deep understanding of what is
accptable and what isn't....going from the extreme left to the extreme right...
need to find the middle, wonder if I have gone too far in the idea of what recovery
looks like....still so much work to do.... I remain a work in progress....
