From Patient To Employee!
Hello everyone,
My name is Jennifer, and Im a grateful recovering alcoholic and drug attic. I wanted to share possibly some encouraging stuff. Im at work right now. I graduated from nursing school in April. It was probablly the most challenging, yet wonderful step Ive ever taken in my life.I celebrated 22 months of sobriety yesterday, and never in my wildest dreams did I ever think I would come as far as I have. In November of 2003, I was a patient in a detox unit in Connecticut ( My home state ). Addicted to heroin, broken, busted, and disgusted!!!! I was at my lowest of lows. Someday I will tell my entire story, but I needed to share that Today, I am an employee at the same hospital and detox unit I was once a patient. I was once the patient I now help, and hope encourage. I always tell them " They never have to feel this way again " I will never be ashamed of my past,it has made me what I am today. Thanks for letting me share, and I wish every recovering being out there the best!!!!!!!! Jen
