Default The fragile nature of life

In a neighbouring community (with a population of around 1000) this week there was a terrible car accident. All three people involved were killed.
In one of the vehicles was a 23 yr old man.
In the other was a father and his 8 year old son. The mother of the boy/wife of the father had her father's funeral that afternoon which she attended.
I cannot fathom the pain of any of these families especially that Mom who in the space of a few days lost her father, husband, and child.
I think a lot of people around here hugged their families a little tighter, a little longer, and with a lot more feeling this week. I hope so.
This event has profoundly impacted me. I will be at the school on Tuesday (the first day of school in Canada) in a counselling capacity. It's going to be difficult to find words of comfort for the children in that school.
It's gotten me to thinking....what would I do if I knew that this was my last day? All of my answers involve my family (and none involve having a drink) I am going to try to keep that in my mind....and to live it now rather than wait for my last day.
