It's been just over 6 months since I quit cold turkey. I was up to a pack and a half a day (more when I drank) and I smoked for over 20 years.
I know there are some others here who want to quit (Chy, Eq, Gabe, Dan). I thought I would share how I did it. Even if someone uses a small tidbit of the info I share, that's all that matters. It was a spontaneous decision to start this thread, and I want to be as thorough as possible so it might be a week or so before I finish. I don't think I had more desire to finally stop than anyone who wants to here. Believe it or not, mentally you have all you need. Hold that thought! Interesting tidbit: I did some math the other day, and the smokeable portion of a Marlboro red is 3". Multiply that by the number of cigarettes not smoked over the past 6 months, and it equals the height of the Empire State Building. |
