Wonderful pics, Fifi. Especially like the one showing the rings... and of course that too adorable little Scottie.
![]() Indy: sorry to hear of your doggie woes - hope all are well soon. Been immersing myself deep in my past the last few days. An old MetOb (which i used to be) has a web site devoted to chronicling pics of Met courses etc. Had some date anomolies, so I was helping him get it straightened out. The things you can remember when you really put your mind to it! Anyway, think I have dragged myself back to the present! ![]() zanna |

![]() Gi, I hear ya on the staying happy together thing, but these guys have lived together for the last 13 years. The marriage was a bit of a formality in a very well established relationship (and yes, he doesn't mind carrying her purse!) ![]() I am totally knackered, after a 13-hour work day full of unexpected challenges. Missed the camera club committee meeting tonight cos I was stuck at work, but I had already submitted my report, so it's not really a big deal. This next month at work is going to be more of the same, but I am determined that I will get through it with the minimum of stress. Hope you are all well. Fifi

Vel, I hope you have a great day in your yellow shoes! Here is why I hate shoes, and anything to do with them...I have long, wide, flat feet and have always had trouble getting shoes that fit.
![]() My friend, on the odd occasion when we have gone clothes shopping, has tried to insist that I attempt to fit my feet into girly shoes...IT AINT GUNNA HAPPEN!!! ![]() I wear runners most days

YELLOW SHOES???
![]() I can't even imagine what they would look like Vel, and nevermind what one would even wear with yellow shoes, LOL!I'm with Feef on the comfortable footwear thing, although these days I mostly wear these cool "driving moccasins" that have a good rubber tread and zip up the front, so no need to tie (and trip over) shoelaces. yellow shoes. *sigh*

Fifi....your feet are fine. Looks like Teva sandals would be a good choice for you or Birkenstocks.

Oh, those are cute Vel...I can see them going nicely with your grey outfit
I agree that Tevas or Birkenstocks would be good for Feef...or perhaps Keene's for sandals. Should we send her a pair? I've been wearing my purple Azalea shoes a lot lately....fantastic rubber tread, with comfy leather upper, and slip on, to boot. Perfect for invalids on crutches, LOL. My SIL brought some silly red plastic ankle high rainboots when she visited last week....they attracted lot's of attention, although I doubt they are really rainproof

Don't really know where I should post this, probably in one of the more serious forums... so I will start here, where you guys know me.
One of my grandchildren definitely drinks too much. She is 34, so not a kid. Don't know that anyone has ever really called her on this, except maybe her mother. Bothers me to see her heading down that road. This is definitely not a big family thing - most barely drink at all. I know, I know, you can't really tell anyone what to do, but... yeah, there are the "buts". zanna |

Zanna, perhaps you could let your grand daughter know about the Village? I have had a horrendously hectic weekend with work. An experiment we started last week has had some unexpected outcomes which has meant we have been working like mad for the last two days. We have an audit tomorrow, and a visit from an overseas client on Wed/Thurs, so an important time. On Friday I went to the hospital to visit my parents' best friend who had a stroke last week. She has sustained some brain injury, but she recognised me and used my name, so she is not totally gone. Her husband is very loving and supportive, and with intensive rehabilitation her prognosis looks quite good. I had just recently introduced her to mindfulness techniques which, ironically enough, have been shown to be of great benefit to stroke patients in restoring brain function. Time will tell I guess. Early to bed for this Feefenator. Hope you are all enjoying your weekend. Fifi

wow zanna, that's a tough call. I would encourage you to share some of your experience with her, and mention the Village as well. Do you think she is aware that there may be a problem? That's always a good place to start
sorry things have been so hectic for you Feef; seems like it's been non-stop since you got back from your camping trip. That was very kind of you to go and visit your friend in the hosp, despite having such a hectic schedule right now. Indie, once you get your feet fixed you'll have to get Feef to take a piccie of you in your new fancy shoes, LOL. How are the pups? Still lying low here, but each day has a bit more crutch-free mobility, and less pain, so that is a good thing. I really don't like being laid up, but there's no getting around this, unfortunately. Onwards.... enjoy the rest of the weekend buds

Velvet, cody, fifi:
Guess what feels right for me right now is go very slowly - would not want to scare her into never sharing anything at all. She lives some distance away, so not as if we see each other or chat (live) all the time. I think she knows there is a problem, at some level, but is definitely not ready to acknowledge it at this point. Does not help that she lives in a milieu where a lot of drinking is almost the norm. zanna |

Sorry guys. I haven't been around much. Computer is acting up on me. Been workng 12-16 hours a day, on call for the rest of the time. Been playing 'baby-sitter', hand-holder, scapegoat & anything else you can think of for my crew. Today was the first day, truly off, in over a month. In between, this week, I've sold my motorcycle, sold most of my furniture, lawn mowers, tillers, etc....Just waiting for this job to end, they foreclose on my house & kick me out. Divorce should be going into the final stages within the next 2 months. We're supposed to have our mandatory mediation session, sometime before the end of the month. He's contesting the alimony & lawyers fee's....After 25 years, he thinks that he's going to get away 'scot-free'....ha
Actually, I'm not selling anything except my bike (its mine, free & clear), everything else, I'm giving away. If I sell any joint property, I have to split my earnings.......I don't think so..... ![]() More later, after I read some more......

Just heard that my granddaughter and her husband are to be transferred to the other side of the country. Not good. But when you are in the military, not a lot you can do. At least it is not Afghanistan this time (her hubby did two tours there).

Remember the eagle nest live cam from last year? Well, it is up and running again (Sidney BC, sort of the other side of the island from me). Apparently two eggs laid so far, Mar 4 and Mar 7. Not a lot of action at the moment.
