Default The Dickens, you say... My Christmas.

Hi everyone!

This is for those who don't frequent another website,
and don't know me all that well.

I was asked to come back to the apt. building in august.
I'd left because of phys. probs, and couldnt work enough
hours to pay the rent. So I opted to move in with a neighbor, and wehn things started looking up-
the landlord called me and invited me back.

"Oh, we'll work something out - she says. 'You're a great renter - ad you don't know how hard it is to find a renter'..
bla bla bla.

Like an idiot - I believed her.

Almost immediately,
i was getting pressured to pay more and more money.
At one point - I was trying to live on 35.00 for two weeks.
All I had left, after paying her, car pmt, and power.

SO!

December comes,
with a hard HARD freeze.
Below zero temps for almost a week.
The building - froze up.
The entire building was two days without water of any sort.

When it began to thaw-
pipes exploded.
Namely - beneath MY apartment.
(A downstairs apt)
I had the upstairs' neighbor's sewage
draining into my bathtub.
For days.

This entire thing lasted maybe a full week.
Freerzing, exploding, and pooping combined.

Immediately following,
the landlady starts telling me
I have to move by may
because there's got to be so much work done on the building.

Ok, fine.

So - I see her the week before Christmas
and she tells me again
I have to find another place.
So I tell her
don't worry, I'm looking
and you'llget pleanty of notice.
At that point -
my apartment was barely functioning,
but the septic had been repaired and wasn't
coming into by bathroom

CHRISTMAs EVE
I get a letter in my mailbox
saying I have until the end of Dec to get out.

She's rented the apartment to another person
for more money
and that I gave her notice.

I did not.

Anyhow -
Christmas Eve, day and day after
she won't answer the phone
avoiding my calls completely.

So i texted her
saying that I did NOT give notice
I only said I was looking
and would let her know.

(remember - i paid her at the first of Dec)
Not in FULL, but plenty, thinking
I could pay her more with another paycheck.

Anywa -
she texts me back saying now I had THREE days to get out
(this the first day after Christmas)
and she brought paper to my work
the day I went back.

I'm now staying with a neighbor,
hacve noplace to go
and hopefully can meet
with emergency and public houseing people Monday.

THAT...
was MY Christmas.

I think what happened
is she deliberately went out and got this person
to rent the apartment
because she could get a hyundred dollars more from him.
So she FABRICATED that whole 'gave notice' story
and when I stood up to her
(how DARE a poor person stand up to her)
she got nasty.

I want you all to know
that ...
even though I FREAKED RIGHT THE F$^#% OUT -
went to the other site and lost it there

I did not
at any point
think that drinking,
or abusing my pain medications
was going to help.

It wasn't an option.

Our miracles .... happen all the time.
