Not knowing which magazines there are in your country, I think that depending which magazines have an affiliation with a primary purpose to avoid associating its name with issues of controversy, will affect which is a suitable magazine to publish your piece, depending how controversial you get.
The people that started a war had a different problem from you or I.
We aspire for our world to be better than it is. We can do a small amount and no more. Beyond that we can make our own lives better by proposing to maintain our own improvement, as best we can, no matter what doesn't improve around us - the ultimate toughness.
While carrying on doing our small amount, including prayer if we are into it. Recovery improves the world because we don't add to conflicts around us at our level. The world didn't go to war because I drank, and isn't going to stop because I stopped. It made life worse for my neighbours and family. Life is now better for them because I stopped. With war still on.
So to your question, I think everything should depend on the editorial policy of whichever magazine, and how controversial you get.
