I've been clean and sober for about 7 and 1/2 years, and happy to be so. I attended AA regularly for about six years after getting to this state. I started out with a stint in an outpatient rehab program, which I found very valuable, as I did the AA time. However, after 6 years in AA without a sponsor or working the steps, it dawned on me that I really didn't want a sponsor or want to work the steps. I couldn't do it with a clear conscience because it just didn't feel right to me. I haven't attended for about 8 months and it's kind of a relief. I guess I'm just wondering if anybody has any comments or personal experience that might bear on this subject. Thanks for any input in advance.
