Here in Will County, Illinois homeowners recieved their property tax bill
for Jan-Dec 2006. First installment due June 4 and second installment due Sept 4, 2007. My tax bill DOUBLED....I am so flippin' mad I can't stand it. I live in a condo, there are 40 in this community. We have private landscapers for summer and snow removal in winter. We take care of all exterior lighting, sidwalks, road in and out of the property. The taxes cover things like school districts, (a district my kids never attended) Libraries, Fire Department and other misc items....oh some of it even goes towards Pensions (HUH???) I don't even have a pension plan at my job! I suppose the only thing I can do is call and dispute it....sounds like big fun! Moving to the hills and living off the land is sounding better to me by the minute!!!!! Does anyone else feel my pain??????????
